CCTV To Be Installed In Leinster House To Monitor TDs And Senators Signing-In
CCTV is to be installed in Leinster House to monitor TDs and senators following concerns that some are getting colleagues to sign in on their behalf.
TDs need to attend the Dail at least 120 days each year to avail of full travel and accommodation expenses.
The Oireachtas confirmed a passive CCTV system will be used to ensure the correct deputies were fobbing in.
It’s reported that authorities decided against using fingerprint or facial recognition after concerns that data could be compromised in a cyberattack.
