The number of official reports of child sex abuse have increased by 42% this year.
Over 1,800 were made to Tusla between January and May, compared to less than 1,300 in the same period in 2021.
These reports are made by Gardaí, teachers, social workers and other experts.
Barnardos chief executive, Suzanne Connolly, says it's very worrying to hear about the abuse.
