Church Of England Expected To Publish Formal Apology Today Over Treatment Of Gay People

The Church of England is expected to publish a formal apology later, over its treatment of gay people.

It’ll take into account what it calls the “rejection, exclusion and hostility” they’ve faced in churches.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, says it’s an attempt to “seek the common good”.

Earlier this week, the Church Of England said it would bless same-sex couples for the first time but still won’t allow gay marriages in its churches.
