City Councillors agree to sell Hollyhill land to IDA
Cork City Councillors are supporting a proposal to sell a second publicly owned landbank on the Northside of the City to the Industrial Development Agency.
The land, which is located in Hollyhill and opposite Apple’s European Headquarters, will be sold for €1.89m
It’s the second parcel of land the council has sold to the IDA in the space of a year, with an area of land measuring about 3.81 hectares known as Lot A sold for €1.25m.
Former Lord Mayor of Cork, Fianna Fail councillor Tony Fitzgerald, says the sale of the land is important.
“The proposal was required to meet immediate employment needs in the area and the value of the land was based on an independent market valuation. This is all part of the master plan proposed by council with many partners in the North West area.
“The availability of this land consolidates the expansion and the development that is being developed in Hollyhill and allows relevant companies to compete worldwide for further plans and growth which will create jobs and investment on Cork’s Northside.”
