Cork Airport Expecting 26,000 Passengers This Weekend

Cork Airport is expecting to handle over 26,000 passengers over the long St Patrick’s weekend

More than 5,000 passengers are expected to travel through the airport on Sunday alone and the extra bank holiday on Friday has acted as an incentive for people to travel

The Cheltenham horse racing festival is also helping to swell numbers with horse-racing enthusiasts travelling to and from the UK for the Festival, and management say all this movement is leading to the airport’s busiest St Patrick’s holiday in three years.

St Patrick’s weekend and Easter traditionally kick start the busy aviation summer period and management say with 41 routes operating from Cork this summer they are hopeful of a busy summer ahead
