Cork city hotel pledges 20 rooms for women and children forced to flee war in Ukraine

The Kingsley Hotel are offering the rooms to the refugees for two nights before they are placed with people who have volunteered to provide accommodation.

Cronin’s Coaches will be delivering aid close to the Ukrainian border on one of their buses and will be bringing the 40 women and children back to Cork.

A GoFundMe campaign set up by the group has raised over €43,000, including a single donation of €10,000.

Speaking to RedFM News, Niall Cronin from Cronin’s Coaches says they have been inundated with offers of accommodation and outlines how the money will be used:

“We’re very confident that we’ve secured enough accommodation and we’ve surpassed our expectations and we’re going to use the extra accommodation to fly people into Cork hopefully, in the near future. We raised a lot of money, the money that we’ve raised is going to be used for helping the people that we bring in on Monday week. We’re going to use that money to fly people into Cork. We have other people waiting to get here. We actually had appeals from people with pets, so we’re hoping to fly those people with their pets in as well.”
