Cork city second highest for rent
Cork city has the second highest average rent for new tenancies in the country.
That’s according to the Residential Tenancies Board, which published its quarterly Rent Index report for the 2021 October to December period, today.
The RTB Rent Index tracks price changes in rents for new tenancies in the private rental sector.
Nationally, the standardised average rent in new tenancies grew by 9 per cent.
Cork county saw a higher year-on-year rent increase than the city.
Rents in the county went up by 13.7%, while in the city they went up by 6.6%.
The standardised average rent for new tenancies in the city was €262 higher than in the county at over €1,392.
