Cork could be hit by flooding and power outages overnight as Yellow Wind Alert is issued

The remnants of ex-Hurricane Lee are dominating Cork’s weather this evening leading to heavy rain and a wind warning for later

Forecasters are predicting more heavy rain showers across the city and county this evening with a Yellow Wind warning coming into operation at midnight

Met Eireann is warning of very strong, gusty winds along with torrential rainfall

Forecaster Liz Walsh told RedFM News that the weather will lead to difficult conditions on our roads and the possibility of power outages

“Some very strong winds for time overnight tonight. So the warning lasts from midnight tonight until around 6am tomorrow morning.  It’s really an overnight event for the wind and the rain is just going to be the accumulations of what happened last night and then you’ve got another belt of rain coming through so that could cause some flooding issues as well”
