Temperatures reached 30.6°C in Cork yesterday

Cork had the second hottest recorded temperature in the country yesterday.

It reached 30.6 degrees in Moore Park.

The heatwave continues today – with thunderstorms on the way.

There are now yellow warnings for high temperatures – AND thunderstorms with a risk of flooding.

Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather explains:

“It will get very heavy with humidity increasing and then those thunderstorms will kick off, and that could give way to some thundery downpours, which could enforce the lead to some localised spot flooding.”
