Cork University Hospital Second Most Overcrowded Hospital In Ireland So Far For June

Cork University Hospital is the second most overcrowded hospital in Ireland in June so far, which 328 patients waiting on trollies in the month.

Today, CUH is the third most overcrowded Emergency Department in the country, with 38 patients waiting on trollies.

In a statement to RedFM News, the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says that the persistent overcrowding is not being taken seriously as a workers’ health issue by the HSE.

Nationally, there are 457 patients are without a bed in Irish hospitals today, including 101 patients in University Hospital Limerick alone.

INMO General Secretary Phil Ní Sheaghdha says to have so many patients “without a bed on a single day in the middle of June is not something we should accept”.
