Cork’s RedFM celebrates 21st birthday
Today is RedFM’s 21st Birthday
On this day in 2002 Cork’s RedFM took to the airwaves at 8am with Basement Jaxx anthem “Red Alert” the first song played live on the station – alerting the competition that there was a new player in town.
Fast forward 21 years later and Cork’s RedFM is the number one station on Leeside and late last year we were named Ireland’s music station of the year at the annual IMRO Radio Awards, and not for the first time.
So happy birthday Cork’s RedFM and here’s to another 21 years.
