Cost of Living protest to take place outside City Hall
The Cost of Living Coalition will hold a protest outside Cork City Hall today.
They are calling on the government to bring forward an Emergency Budget before the Dáil goes into recess for the summer.
The protest is taking place at 5 o’clock – ahead of the last City Council meeting of the summer, where the issue of an Emergency Budget is also due to be debated.
Socialist Party TD for Cork North Central, Mick Barry, is inviting the public to join them .
“There’s a protest being organised at Cork City Hall before the Cork City Council meet to demand an emergency budget before the Government shut down the Dail for the summer period.
“People are under huge pressure because of the cost of living crisis, and can’t wait until September.”
