Coveney says pressure needs to be brought on Moscow to end war

Pressure needs to be brought on Moscow to end the brutality associated with the Ukraine war.

That’s the view of the Foreign Affairs Minister, who says Ireland would support tougher sanctions if necessary.

Minister Simon Coveney says a long drawn out war with huge casualties must be avoided:

“And instead, we need to focus on tougher again sanctions if necessary, working with other countries in the international community to put pressure on Moscow to end this brutality as soon as possible, and to move to the negotiating table, and that’s what Ireland’s continues to support.”
