Crime rate falls in Cork City

Crimes such as murder, assault and harrassment in the City have fallen by 42% for the first two months of the year.

The Echo reports property crime has halved and public order incidents have decreased by 23%.

However drugs offences have increased by 102% compared to January and February 2020.

The figures were reported at the latest meeting of the Cork City Joint Policing Committee, which heard policing during the pandemic was ‘challenging’.
