Direct provision residents in Cork say this is the direct impact of the system of direct provision and the constant threat of deportation.
Dozens turned out yesterday in the city for a demonstration to highlight the plight of asylum seekers and to call for general amnesty for those who have been living in Ireland for five years or longer.
It follows a recent campaign here Leeside to save a local family who were being forced to leave the county.
The Edmund Rice Schools network gave their support to the campaign to save their current and past pupils Hamza, Zubair, Umair and Mutjuba Khan from deportation, that case is currently ongoing.
