Drugs and cash worth more than €1.5m seized
Drugs and cash worth more than €1.5m have been seized in counties Kildare and Meath.
Gardaí made the discoveries as part of an operation targeting street dealing across the country.
Gardaí in Kildare searched a number of properties in Newbridge yesterday afternoon, as part of Operation Tara, targeting drug trafficking networks.
At one location, around €240,000 of cocaine and €1.2m of cannabis was found.
Suspected mixing agents and other drug paraphernalia were also seized.
Gardaí in Co. Meath also working as part of the operation, seized almost €40,000 in cash after they intercepted a vehicle on the M1 yesterday morning.
The driver of the car who was aged in his 20s was arrested, and taken to Ashbourne Garda Station for questioning.
He can be detained for up to 7 days.
