Dublin TD Says She’s Had To Upgrade Security At Her Home

This comes after a new survey shows the extent of threatening behaviour experienced by politicians.
Out of almost 100 politicians surveyed, 90 per cent say they have been threatened physically or verbally while doing their jobs.
Only a handful of respondents said they’d never been threatened.
Sinn Fein TD for Dublin-Fingal, Louise O’Reilly, says increased home security is likely to be necessary from now on:
“I think that that’s going to be to become a feature, I don’t, I think it’s horrible that it is going to become a feature, but I fear that that is going to become a feature for the future and I know that during the Eighth Amendment campaign I upgraded the security in my Swords office, now I’ve moved office in Balbriggan. My office is in a more prominent main street location, which I think is actually safer, but in Swords I had upgraded the security there.”
