€6.3 Billion Euro Exchequer Surplus Recorded To End Of August

A 6.3 billion euro exchequer surplus has been recorded to the end of August.
That compares to a deficit of €6.7 billion for the same period last year.
Tax revenue to the end of August this year was €49.8 billion which is more than €10 billion ahead of the same time last year.
The increase is driven by strong growth in income tax, VAT and Corporation tax.
