Environment Minister Eamon Ryan says he's 'hopeful' Ireland will meet its target of a 51% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

A joint Oireachtas Committee is meeting today to discuss sectoral emissions ceilings.

The guidelines set out by the government in July include a targeted 25% cut on agricultural emissions.

Minister Ryan believes a 'transformative' change is needed in all sectors to achieve our climate targets.
