Education Minister preparing for full reopening of schools
Education Minister Norma Foley says all plans are working towards the full reopening of schools from next month.
CO2 monitors will be made available to schools to ensure air quality is kept at safe levels for staff and students.
She also said the vaccine portal for those aged between 16 and 18 will open in “the coming days” to make being in school safer.
Minister Foley says everything is being worked on to ensure the full return of schools.
“I am bringing a memo to cabinet on Tuesday. Basically all our plans are in place, and we’re preparing for a full return in August and early September.
“I think it’s important from a reassurance point of view to say that all our preparation is a consequence of ongoing collaboration, and engagement and consultation with public health. “
