Eileen Gleeson confirmed as interim head coach
The FAI have confirmed Eileen Gleeson as the interim head coach of the Republic of Ireland women’s team.
Gleeson was previously involved as assistant coach, and is currently the FAI Head of Women and Girls’ Football.
Gleeson will be in charge for the huge clash with Northern Ireland in the Nations League at the Aviva Stadium on September 23rd, and away to Hungary on the 26th.
The FAI will begin the process of recruiting Vera Pauw’s permanent successor immediately.
The Dutchwoman was informed last night that her contract wasn’t being renewed after four years at the helm
The 60 year old was appointed in September of 2019, and led the Girls in Green to their first World Cup, and a world ranking of 22.
