EU and UK’s post-Brexit relationship group takes place next week

The first meeting of a group set up to manage the EU and UK’s post-Brexit relationship takes place next week.

Both parliaments are sending 35 representatives each.

The meetings will be chaired by UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss and European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic.

Sinn Fein MEP Chris MacManus says outstanding issues related to the Northern Ireland Protocol must be tackled:

“Key things for me to be raising our issues post Brexit, predominantly around the Irish protocol and predominantly about ensuring that we find a way to make sure that the voices of the people in the North of Ireland who are now affected by directors and legislation that will be coming out of Brussels, are being listened to it.”
