FAI “Aware” Of Decision Taken By Cork Branch Of Irish Referees Society
The FAI says it is aware of the decision taken by the Cork branch of the Irish Referees Society.
It has advised its members not to officiate at Carrigaline United’s home ground until further notice.
The FAI says it will investigate the matter further before deciding how to proceed.
The Football Association made the comments after the Cork branch of the Irish Referees Society alleged one of their referees was subjected to “criticism, verbal abuse and threats” while officiating a match at Ballea Park (PRON: Ballet Park) in the town at the end of February.
A statement from the society says they felt they had to act immediately in the best interests of their members.
RedFM News has contacted Carrigaline United and the Cork Youth League for comment.
