Fine Gael TD warns over 3,000 taxi drivers could be forced off the road in 2023

Over 3,500 taxi-drivers with ten year old cabs may be forced off the road by next year, according to a Fine Gael TD
The National Transport Authority has been warned to update their rules on the lifespan of taxis, so no driver will be out of work due to the age of their cars.
During the Covid pandemic, the age span on taxis was extended but that is due to expire at the end of the year.
Deputy Neale Richmond says there aren’t enough taxis as it is.
