French Aircraft makes emergency landing at Cork Airport

The crew on board the military aircraft declared a pan-pan alert shortly after 7.30am to air traffic control amid fears of a possible fire on board

It’s understood there were 23 people on board

Airport police and the fire service at Cork Airport were all mobilised as the inbound aircraft landed safely just before 8.10am

Gardai also responded to the scene with reports that up to 10 squad cars were on hand to deal with any possible emergency

Management confirmed to RedFM News that all emergency services have now been stood down

The pan pan alert is used to declare that urgent help is needed but for the time being does not pose an immediate danger to anyone’s life or to the aircraft itself

There are unconfirmed reports that there was a fire onboard which sparked this alert

The plane remains on the ground here and it’s understood no one was injured in the incident
