Frontrunner For Next British Prime Minister Rules Himself Out Of Leadership Contest

The frontrunner to be the next British Prime Minister has ruled himself out of the leadership contest.

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace was the early favourite to replace Boris Johnson.

In a tweet this afternoon Ben Wallace said it was not an easy choice to make; but he said his focus was on his current job.

He was the early favourite to replace Boris Johnsons.

So far former Chancellor Rishi Sunak, senior Conservative backbencher Tom Tugendhat and former equalities minister Kemi Badenoch have all entered the race to be the next Tory Party leader.

More candidates are expected to declare in the coming days including former health secretary Sajid Javid and former foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt.
