The Garda Band has cost tax-payers around €25,000 per performance over the past two years.
According to the Examiner, the booking cost for their gigs is the equivalent to booking Kaiser Chiefs and slightly more than Paolo Nutini.
In total, almost 4.6 million was spent on the group since 2020, who played at 190 events during that time.
The band comprises of 26 full-time musicians who are not involved in policing usually, but were deployed during the pandemic.
