Garda Significantly Increase Practice Of Travelling To International Airports To Ensure Those Seeking Refuge Are Boarding With Correct Documentation

Gardaí have increased significantly the practice of travelling to international airports mainly in Europe to ensure those seeking refuge in Ireland are boarding planes with the correct documentation.

It understood Gardaí are travelling to airports they have identified after examining travel patterns and flows of people coming into Ireland.

According to the Irish Examiner the Government is also considering increasing the 1,500 Euro fine on airlines that fail to properly check passenger documents.
