Gardaí Launch Criminal Investigation Into Death Of Nursing Home Resident During Covid-19 Pandemic

Gardaí have launched a criminal investigation into the death of a nursing home resident during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The woman died at a residential facility in the south of the country in February 2021.

Gardaí say they will be making no further comment at this time.

A number of families whose relatives died from Covid-19 in nursing homes across the country have called for a public inquiry into the matter.
