Gardai launch criminal investigation into suspected murder suicide in Lixnaw
Gardai have launched a criminal investigation into what’s believed to be a murder-suicide in North Kerry.
Three members of a family were found dead at a home in the town of Lixnaw on Tuesday night.
Gardai say the family were well respected in the area, and they are yet to establish a motive for the incident.
56-year-old Eileen O’Sullivan and her 24-year-old son Jamie, were found inside the house, while Eileen’s 63-year-old partner Mossie was found at the back of the home.
Gardai say the results of the post-mortems will determine the course of their investigation, preliminary findings indicate that all three died of gunshot wounds.
