Gardaí Say They Will Have A Zero Tolerance Policy On Anti-Social Behaviour

As Cork gears up to welcome it’s favour red head, Ed Sheeran, Gardaí are reminding the public that they will have a zero tolerance policy on anti-social behaviour.

35,000 fans are going to see the singer/songwriter in Páirc Uí Chaoimh tonight, in the first big outdoor gig in Cork in over two years.

Gates open at 4pm, with the first act, Denise Chaila, due on stage at around 6 o’clock.

Ed himself is expected to take to the stage at around 8 o’clock.

Concert goers are being reminded to have their tickets downloaded and their phones fully charged as this is the first fully digital ticket tour and to take public transport where possible .

Speaking to RedFM News, Inspector James Hallahan of the Garda Roads Policing Units says they want people to enjoy themselves:

“The four main things we won’t tolerate is:

Drinking alcohol in public; we will seize the alcohol and you could be liable for fines.

Also, if you do need to use the toilet, there are public toilets in the area, please don’t use people’s back gardens or front gardens or entrances to business purposes.

Litter bins will be provided in the area. So again, if you’re disposing of litter, use the bins provided.

Antisocial behaviour, there’ll be a zero tolerance with that. We will issue fines where appropriate and in some cases, if it is warranted, we will be arresting people”.
