Government not considering Covid type restrictions in schools amid Strep A outbreak

The Government is not considering Covid-type restrictions in schools to help restrict the spread of Strep A among children.

The HSE has told parents to keep unwell kids home from school, after a young child died from the infection earlier this week.

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar says children will not be separated into pods, like they were during the height of the pandemic.

He says Strep A should be treated differently to Covid.
