The government is set to introduce a number of measures in the coming months which should result in a reduction in the cost of insurance.
Minister Daragh Calleary announced the first phase of those changes today.
Currently The Personal Injury Assessment Board assesses claims for compensation arising from personal injuries in the workplace or a motor incident.
From next week, if a claimant decides to go to court to seek a higher amount of compensation but is award a lower amount than agreed with PIAB- then they will not recover their costs.
