Government supports 6.5% public sector pay deal

The cabinet has given its backing to the Public Sector Pay Deal proposed yesterday.

Unions are consulting their members over the agreement, which would see a 6.5% pay rise over two years.

General secretary of the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation, John Boyle, insists it’s the best deal unions could get.
