B2B Technical Sales Representative




Graepels is looking to hire a Technical Sales Rep to join the Company. If you want to be a part of a dynamic, innovative, and hardworking team, then Graepels is for you! Our customers are at the fore of everything we do, your role will be to work as part of a team and independently in achieving and exceeding sales and growth targets, ensuring customer satisfaction, upholding the brand values and ethos, while ensuring customer loyalty is maintained.


Reporting to the General Manager of Graepels Kinsale, Cork (HQ). Ideally, the successful candidate will be ambitious, engaging, and interested in developing as a sales professional. They must have an aptitude for technical sales.


Our company is seeking individuals with an understanding of one or more of the following industries: Construction, Industrial, Food Processing, Pharmaceutical Agricultural, Recycling/Waste management, or Architecture. For example the Architectural industry has a range of product applications manufactured by Graepels including; Balustrade Infill, cladding, ventilation, walkways, stairs and much more.


We require a professional who enjoys problem-solving and can present complex solutions in a way that makes our customers feel at ease. It is essential to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Graepels manufacture engineered metal products. Today, we are a family run SME, Irish grown since 1959 with German roots since 1889.


Graepels are known for our approach with regards to quality and reliability for our goods and services. Our manufacturing services include; CNC Perforating, Wire Weaving, Laser Cutting and Fabrication Services.


In addition to continuously developing new ideas with regards to research and development, Graepels strive to expand their product range and applications into new and existing markets.


Over the last five years Graepels has made huge strides in machinery capabilities, our team, innovation and product development. Our aim is to continue this growth and development with the support and backing of our team the team that makes us Graepels.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Dealing with customer queries, via phone, company’s website; some face-to-face selling is also required.
  • Ensuring customer’s job requirements are adequately met, both to the customer’s and to the company’s satisfaction.
  • Determining the best technical solution to the customer’s requirement.
  • Liaising with other internal department e.g. design, production, despatch etc.
  • Pricing job enquiries and agreeing selling prices with customers.
  • Processing all paperwork associated with jobs sold e.g. raising internal Sales Orders, material Purchase Orders etc.
  • Keeping various internal recording and reporting tools up to date.
  • Maintaining systems relating to various reporting tools and price calculators.
  • Responding promptly (usually same day) to customers and obtaining/evaluating all relevant information to progress inquiries and maximise opportunities as they arise.
  • Creating customer solutions on prospective and current accounts.
  • Supporting quality timeline of an account from the sales process to securing an order from the customer, through to design, production and delivery.
  • Managing administration and documentation; and maintaining customer interactions and transactions.


I.T. skills:


  • Adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience with an ERP and/or a CRM systems (e.g Epicore) would be an advantage.
  • A working knowledge of AUTOCAD or Solidworks and/or other technical/drawing packages would be an advantage or a willingness to learn




  • Aptitude for technical sales.
  • Experience of pricing and/or selling technical products
  • Experience in the sheet metal or associate sectors
  • Abilities to organise activities and handle multiple projects simultaneously with effective and timely follow-up.
  • Manage one’s own workload so that all customer enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Possess a positive attitude while being able to operate under pressure and be an independent problem-solver.

  • To be continuously inquisitive, while always wanting to learn more about the company’s capabilities, problem solving difficult customer enquiries with the team.
  • Experience in selling, ideally in a B2B environment.
  • Experience/qualification in a technical arena or other associated discipline would be an advantage.
  • General experience or aptitude towards working with sheet metal would also be an advantage, including experience in Perforated metal or Fabricated products.
  • A good mathematical understanding would be very important.
  • Excellent people and communication skills: verbal, numeric and written.
  • Ability to take ownership for your customer’s orders from cradle to grave.
