The Health Minister says Ireland is at the 'start of another wave' of Covid 19.
Stephen Donnelly is calling on anyone who is eligible for a second booster vaccine to book an appointment.
The HSE is welcoming over 65s and immunocompromised people over 12 for an extra dose.
Minister Donnelly says it is vital to protect the health service:
"The single most important thing to protect our healthcare services and public health when it comes to COVID: can I ask any of your listeners who are eligible now for their next vaccine, be it their primary dose, or their first booster, or their second booster? We are at the start of another wave: protect yourself, protect your family, protect your friends, and protect your healthcare resources locally, please go and get your next vaccine dose if you're eligible for it".
