Higher catholic population in NI for first time in history

Catholics outnumber protestants in the North for the first time in history.

45.7% of the population are catholic, and 43.5% are protestant.

Census results reveal the number of protestants has dropped by 10% in the past two decades.

However, political commentator Malachi O Doherty says a United Ireland isn’t a guarantee.
