Hotels say maximum number of guests allowed at a wedding should be tripled to 150
The government is in talks about increasing the capacity at the ceremonies, although Tanaiste Leo Varadkar said couples planning their day should assume the current limit of 50 guests will stay.
Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) President Elaina Fitzgerald Kane says larger weddings should be allowed.
“I think it should be beyond 100 I mean if you look at the gradual increase that we’ve had from 50 to 100. If that continues to be, you know, safe, which is what we all want and successful. There’s no reason why for places particularly with larger capacity, that it should you know potentially go to 150, or beyond.”
