Housing Minister slammed after saying accomodation shortage is not an emergency
The Housing Minister has been criticised for saying the shortage of homes isn’t an emergency.
Minister Darragh O’Brien said while some people will be in emergency situations he doesn’t believe there’s a state of emergency in the housing sector overall.
Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald saying things are nothing short of catastrophic:
“The claim made that this isn’t a housing emergency is so painfully out of touch with reality because he shook if this isn’t a disaster than what is, if this isn’t a social catastrophe than what is and if this isn’t a housing emergency as you claim or then pauses.”
