Housing Minister’s plan for the delivery of affordable described as “pathetic”
The Housing Minister’s plan for the delivery of affordable homes is being described as “pathetic”.
It’s after newly released figures show less that 50 are to be built per annum in some commuter counties over the next five years.
The figure’s as low as eight per year in Carlow and Laois.
Assistant Professor of Social Policy at Maynooth University, Rory Hearne, says it shows Housing For All isn’t the solution:
“I just can’t understand how this is with a straight face a minister could say that this is a solution to our housing crisis, I could use stronger words but I think it’s pathetic, in terms of really providing a future for people who are locked out of affordable homes.”
