Increased attendance at weddings welcomed as a huge boost for hoteliers
100 people will be able to attend from August 5th after cabinet signed off on the easing yesterday after initially deciding to keep the number at 50.
Around 22,000 couples tie the knot in Ireland every year and the vast majority were forced to reschedule their wedding several times since the start of the pandemic.
Speaking to RedFM News, Michael Magner from the Vienna Woods Hotel says hoteliers are keen for some clarity on the re-introduction of live music:
“It would be really welcome to hear of the reintroduction of live music and bands at weddings, and I think if couples got that moving forward, I think the resemblance of what was a traditional wedding, and the excitement and the fun and the celebration that goes with what is probably the most important day in a couple’s life at this point in time when they plan their wedding day, I think, couples would welcome that very much but overall good news.”
