Increasing Calls For People To Delete ‘TikTok’
There are increasing calls for people to delete TikTok from their phones.
It comes in the wake of the Chinese so called ‘weather’ balloon in the United States which was shot down by US Military yesterday.
There have long been concerns around TikTok over its links to China because its parent company, ByteDance, was founded in the country, and critics have raised fears data could be passed to the Chinese state.
Technology Journalist Andy O’ Donoghue thinks the TikTok concerns are over rate:
“TikTok don’t collect any more data than Facebook do. And of course Google to run their advertising business collect a similar type of information. There is no evidence that TikTok does anything like read your emails and if you are concerned about using TikTok, there are quite a lot of things you can do to mitigate it”.
