Ireland has recorded an all-time high temperature for the month of August.

Met Éireann provisionally recorded 31-point-7 degrees at Oak Park in Carlow today.

It beats the previous record, by 0-point-2 degrees.

A status yellow high temperature warning is in place for the entire country until Monday, with Met Éireann issuing advice in relation to heat stress.

Tomorrow could be another record breaking day.
