Wanna be part of Irish Music Month on Cork’s RedFM?

We’re looking for 4 Cork acts to battle it out to be the RedFM representative in a national radio competition that could see you win over 10 thousand euro in prize money and equipment plus guaranteed radio play across 25 different Irish radio stations…

Apply to be part of Irish Music Month on Cork’s RedFM by emailing [email protected] with the following details:

  • Who you are (artist/group name and members)
  • Short bio
  • 1 or 2 tracks (MP3)
  • Picture/video/reels
  • Social media links & contact details

 

Terms & Conditions:

If you are selected as one of the four acts we’ll bring you into RedFM to record a session and interview for use on air on Green On Red with Mags Blackburn Sunday from 7 and you’ll receive €650 euro plus €225 for your tech crew (total: €875).

If you are selected by a panel of RedFM judges to be the RedFM representative you’ll receive an additional €1000 (of which €400 is for your crew/support team) and you’ll be sent forward for national consideration.

 

National Consideration:

The 25 entries are then judged on their winning performance/interview in late March

A shortlist of five is chosen for the grand finale

All five selected from the winning 25 will play two songs each at the national final – the judges decide on an overall winner, who is crowned as “The New Local Hero”

National Prize Money & Terms:

One artist is selected as the recipient of the overall A New Local Hero award, earning an additional €5k in prize money and €5k in musical equipment, as well as having a single released by the Rubyworks label.

Audio from the National Final will be edited for broadcast on all 25 stations as a one-hour programme.

All participating stations will simultaneously play the winning track on the day following the final.

All participating stations commit to giving the winning track a minimum of 30 plays of the song post – final, within six weeks of receiving the professionally recorded song as released by Rubyworks.
