Irish people travelling to Spain told not to worry about Ryanair strike

Irish holiday-makers heading to Spain are being told not to worry as Ryanair staff there prepare to strike.

Spanish cabin crew are staging six days of work stoppages in June and July, the first of which is in 10 days time.

It looks set to cause disruption to flights into and out of Spain.

However, Editor of Travel2Ireland, Joan Scales, doesn’t believe it will have too big an impact on Irish holiday-makers:

“Many of our staff, the Ryanair staff on the Spanish routes from here are Irish based and they’re not members of these Spanish trade unions. I think if the strike goes ahead it will seriously affect internal air traffic in Spain, where Ryanair has a considerable number of routes, Ryanair have already got agreements in place with 90% of staff, and they’re continuing negotiations with the main Spanish Union.”
