“It doesn’t come around too often” – Damien Cahalane Relishes Barrs Munster Club Campaign

St. Finbarrs will represent Cork in the Munster senior club hurling championship for the first time in 29 years. That’s a fact that Cork and Barrs star Damien Cahalane is all too aware of as they prepare for their semi final with Clare’s Ballyea in two weeks time.

Speaking at the launch of the AIB All-Ireland club championships, Cahalane told RedFM Sport how important it is for the team to make the most of their opportunity in Munster:

“It’s an opportunity and it’s an opportunity that you don’t know when it’s going to come about again. It’s hard enough to win a Cork county championship so now that we’ve won one, you know, there’s another opportunity there ahead of us. I think for certain we’re going up there to give a good account of ourselves and to do to ourselves justice, to do the group justice and, you know, to do Cork justice in the Munster Championship”

St. Finbarrs will travel to Cusack Park in Ennis on November 20th for their Munster Club SHC semi final with Ballyea. You can hear this interview in full on Sunday’s Big Red Bench on Cork’s RedFM, 6-7pm.
