People upskilling to change career resulted in a rise in the number of job opportunities offered in Cork, in 2021.
That's according to management at FRS Recruitment who say Cork saw a 60% increase in employment last year.
There were over 81 thousand new job postings handled nationally in 2021 with Cork being one of the counties with the highest increase in *new jobs.
There were a variety of positions offered across commercial, IT, healthcare, construction, life sciences,engineering and agricultural sectors, with new jobs in retail up 117%, and transport and logistics posts up 82%.
Speaking to RedFM News Lynne McCormack, General Manager of FRS Recruitment says she expects a further increase for 2022.
"We've seen a really big spike in terms of the numbers and volume of the jobs out there in retail, transport, logisitics, professional services, financial services.
"It's been a great year for Cork, and nationally across the board we're forecasting a further 10% increase across the board for 2022, which is fantastic to see.
"The outlook is really good."
