Just 4% of people using electricity smart meters correctly

Around 4% of electricity customers with smart meters installed are using them correctly.
More than 930,000 meters have been installed in homes and businesses around the country.
However, just shy of 38,000 users have activated the meters and signed up for tariffs, according to the Irish Independent.

How does one use a smart meter ‘correctly’?

Define “using them correctly”… We have a smart meter; it is activated, but all of the “smart tariffs” would have been more expensive, for our usage, than the normal tarifs. Is that not using it correctly?
