Kerry Councillor Calls Bye-Law Banning Dogs From Blue Flag Beaches In Kerry ‘Nanny State Nonsense’

‘Nanny state nonsense ‘, that’s how one councillor’s described a by-law to ban dogs on Blue Flag beaches in Kerry.

They won’t be allowed on stretches of beaches covered by flue flags, between 11am and 7pm during the summer.

The by-law was backed by Kerry County Council to reduce dog fouling.

Independent Councillor Jackie Healy Rae fears it could impact tourism in the county.
