Last Year’s Eurovision Winners Believe Ukrainian President Would Have Wanted To Thank UK For Hosting If He’d Been Allowed To Speak Tonight

Last year’s Eurovision winners believe the Ukrainian President would have only wanted to thank the UK if he’d been allowed to speak tonight.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s request to be included in the final was refused by organisers who are worried the move would “politicise” the event.

Russia’s invasion means the UK is hosting, despite Kalush Orchestra winning the contest last time around.

The band’s frontman Oleh Psiuk has asked people to remember the nation’s struggles during tonight’s grand final:

“We would like to say, please vote for our Ukrainian band. Don’t forget about Ukraine and keep supporting us”.
